Travel | Kwai Chai Hong: Take Me Back To 1960s

Image
Hi There,  In March 2020, I went to KL for a short trip and discovered the historical Kwai Chai Hong. It is a small alley behind Petaling Street with numerous murals depicting the daily activities of early Chinese settlers in the area during the 1960s. It was a meaningful experience, I had the opportunity to enjoy art and history at the same time. Unfortunately, the rain started to pour not long after I came. So, I decided to return to my hotel after 15 minutes of sightseeing, which I regretted because there are few cafes connected to the lane that I should have tried. Here are some photos for a throwback…. Due to the current restriction; sight-seeing, visitation, or gathering are not allowed. However, you can still visit the cafes with strict SOP. Please check out the website for more information https://www.kwaichaihong.com   Till then, Thank you for stopping by and Take Care. 🌻

Work from Home Experience during Movement Control Order (MCO)

Image
COVID-19 took the world by a complete surprise and impacted our lives personally and professionally. We were working in the office the other day and now working from home until I don’t know when. It has been 6 months now, and I thought, maybe I should document my experiences for personal reflection and as a reminder to myself. A lot of things have changed but I’m going to share these two (2) for a start: - 1) The MCO has definitely affected my daily routine . With the work from home arrangement, I have extra 30 – 45 minutes in the morning and evening which I usually spent to drop off my son at the daycare and commute to work and vice versa. Extra minutes means more time for bible study, skincare routine, breakfast, cooking and exercise. So, just like everyone else, I had to prioritize and rearrange my activities to adapt with the new norm. 2) Our ways of working have also changed. Meetings, discussions and trainings are conducted online. I’m grateful for the good internet connection a...

Favorite Online Gift Shops | Malaysia

Image
Hi there! Most of the time, I prefer buying gifts online because of the choices and services they offered such as personalization and customization. The only thing about online shopping is that we need to order at least 1 month before the occasion to make sure it will be delivered on time and if there is any damage to the product, we will still have time to return and change it etc. Here are my favorite online gift shops and why you should check them out…😍 1. Flint & Steel Borneo Flint & Steel Borneo is co-founded by twin sisters, Marilyn and Rachel Ang in December of 2015. In March of 2018, Flint and Steel Borneo moved into its very own workspace. The space was designed to house the works and products of the local vendors, where their products are made available to the shoppers throughout the year.  https://www.flintandsteelborneo.com/ They have both physical and online store. If you are in Kuching, you can visit them at 1st Floor, Lot 3261, TT3 Commercial Centre, Jalan...

Go Local – Koji Bands & Benang

Image
Hi There, In this post, I am going to share few products from Malaysian (Sarawak) brands, which you need to check out, pronto! 1. Koji Bands KOJI bands are hair bands (aka hair ties) made from elastic ribbons. They are soft, comfortable and gentle on your hair, and great for all occasions. They won’t damage your hair and add a pretty pop of color in your hair or on your wrists. Koji Bands also dry quickly – making them great for sports and swimming. Just rinse them in the shower and hang them to dry – www.kojibands.com Why I love them? I discovered Koji Bands last year (2019) and I have been wearing them ever since. The hair tie is so comfortable and gentle on my hair, considering that I have pretty thin and fragile hair. Most importantly it did not leave any crease and pulled out too much hair once I removed it. The designs are pretty cute too , you can find basic colors to unicorns, cats etc. Of course, just like any other hair ties, they can get out of ...

Review: Jamu Tun Teja – 1st Lifestyle Jamu in Malaysia for Healthier Body

Image
Why? It has been 18 months, since I gave birth to my son. Just like any other mothers, I struggled to keep myself together. Emotionally and physically. After work, I will fetch my son from the daycare, prepare and clean the kitchen after dinner and usually I will have 1-2 hours left before bedtime. I'm not complaining. I tried to find ways through readings, for products or lifestyle tips for me to stay healthy, energetic, grateful and happy. I believed that when I take care  of myself, I can  care  for my loved ones even better. So, I started to look for health products to help improve my inner health (especially after giving birth) and increase my energy level. I have tried few products but maybe they worked for others but not me. Actually, I am quite picky and cautious on buying health products, because I want to make sure, whatever I consume, is safe and certified by the health ministry. Jamu Tun Teja was all over Facebook and Instagram. I could not help...
